Informed Consent is CLEAR™

C – Condition explained (you understand your diagnosis)
L – Layout of treatment (you know the short- and long-term proposed treatment plan including all procedure, product, or lifestyle recommendations)
E – Effects discussed (benefits, risks, and uncertainties of each part of the treatment plan are shared)
A – Alternatives offered (other options to the recommended treatment plan, including doing nothing, are explained)
R – Responses encouraged (you can ask any questions you have)
